Are You A Shooting Bullet Or A Stagnant One?

I remember when I was taught how to use a gun. A pistol to be more precise and it was government issued. I wasn't just taught how to shoot at things. No. I learnt how to disassemble and reassemble it parts. The reasons for each part. How to pull the hammer and why it is pulled. The need for the safety part of it. How to load bullet in the case, switch off the safety, pull the hammer, pull the trigger and bam!

During the shoot training, as the shot flew out and hit a tree, there was an effect on it. Some parts of its bark had been blown off. In my mind, I was wondering, 'is it that small bullet that did this?, That small thing?' --- then I realized Science, Force to be precise. Force is a product of Mass and Acceleration. Acceleration is simply velocity with respect to time. A large velocity with a very short time frame would have a large acceleration. So, that small bullet that looks like a pebble, if given adequate acceleration could bring about a force that would create an impact.

Let's apply it to life. You might think that you are small or wouldn't amount to much in life, or people keep telling you that you can't make it. If you don't apply acceleration in your life, my dear, you would remain there. There's really no two ways about it. For you to come out victorious, you have to be a shooting bullet. Sometimes life would drag you down like the tree stopped the first shot, but, it doesn't mean you should stop shooting.

You are the bullet with the mass. Your zeal, determination, hard/smart work, diligence are your accelerants and they must be applied to bring out a force from within you to create an impact of greatness within the time frame you have in this world. An impact that touches the lives of the people around you. An impact that makes people see you as FORCE figuratively. An impact that makes you feel proud of yourself. An impact that makes folks who know you, feel proud of you. An impact that makes you satisfied.

So today, are you a shooting bullet or a stagnant one? You decide.

  1. A bullet does not accelerate. It damaged the tree because of something called momentum. Momentum is the tendency for a body to keep moving once it has been set in motion, it is given by mass times velocity. No acceleration was involved as there was no force propelling the bullet to increase its velocity over time. If anything, it was decelerating due to forces like air resistance and drag. But this goes unnoticed due to the immerse velocity of the bullet. Keep writing, it shows that you are a thinker.
